"HOLDING NOTHING BACK

Dear Beloveds,

In our book of the month, Exquisite Risk, the author Mark Nepo writes, "We are here to live out loud. Not loudly, just not repressed. Too often, we move through life holding our breath." I moved through many years of my life holding my breath, not even consciously aware that I was doing it. It wasn't until I entered this beautiful teaching that I learned a different way of being.

As I studied, I also learned that my breath was not the only thing I was holding. As I deepened in my understanding, I realized I was holding grudges, judgments, ideas, beliefs, my potential and maybe most significant my love. The result of all this withholding left me imprisoned. I was living such a small unfulfilled life.  As I began to hear the truth, allowing it to penetrate my mind, I noticed that my breath began to expand as well. Slowly, but surely, as my breath expanded, so did everything else about my life. You see, the breath is the circulation of life or Spirit. We were never meant to hold Spirit back. We were made in the image and likeness. We are destined to express wisdom, creativity, compassion, generosity and most importantly love. When we become the opening for Spirit, holding nothing back, but instead giving all of ourselves, we land in a stream of grace.

What are you holding back? Is it your breath, creativity, self or love? What would your life look like if you were to hold nothing back? What if you showed up without a reservation? Join me this week as we explore the idea of "Holding Nothing Back."

Richest blessings,
Rev. Dr. Penny Macek
