"THE WORK OF LOVE

Dear Beloveds,

On the back cover of our book of the month, "The Exquisite Risk," by Mark Nepo, you'll find this thought, "In these fast paced times, the exquisite risk facing each of us every day is to slow down so that we may experience life rather than simply manage it." As I read this statement two words jumped out at me: experience and manage. I began to ponder whether I experience or manage life. Ugh, to my dismay, I realized I do a lot of what is probably unnecessary managing. I also realized that managing is a softer, gentler, kinder version of control. Double ugh!

So I have spent some time this week contemplating how different my life would be if I did not manage my health, money, relationships, home, NVC or surroundings. What would it look and feel like if instead I experienced each of them? What would it look and feel like if you experienced each of them? What would it look and feel like if we just held and listen to each of them? In my contemplation, I immediately began to have a greater awareness of Oneness. One with: my body, money, people, my home, each of you and my surroundings. By slowing down I was pulled into a greater realization of love. You see, an awareness of our Oneness is Love. In the book, Mark writes, "It is in loving the experience that releases the warmth and light that waits in each of us."

Join me this week as we begin exploring the "The Work of Love." Let's slow down together releasing the warmth and light that waits in each of us. The world needs this warmth and light right now.

Richest blessings,
Rev. Dr. Penny Macek
