I first found Science of Mind in 1982 at Valley of the Sun Religious Science Center where I studied with Joyce Murphy who became the founding minister of New Vision Center. I became a Practitioner in 2001 and I enjoy teaching classes and helping other to discover the truth of how wonderful and creative they really are. I first served on the Leadership Council in 2009 and then again in 2018. I’ve worked in the areas of fund generation and events like the Paloozas and Gourmet for God. As a Realtor, I also served on the new home committee and I’m so happy that we decided to make this place our new home! During this pandemic we have done a wonderful job of not only continuing our services and classes, but even growing our loving community. Still, we have a lot to do, and I’m looking forward to supporting our two amazing Ministers and all of you by serving as this year’s Leadership Council President.

I have always been a seeker of Truth and have found peace in the Science of Mind philosophy. I was born in a traditional Christian family in a Pennsylvania farm community. Although grateful for my religious upbringing, I was still searching until I found this philosophy in my 30’s. It made sense and led me into continued studies! I have been a Science of Mind Practitioner for over 20 years and enjoy helping people discover their inner greatness. I, also, work part time as Licensed Professional Counselor, continuing to help people with life choices and personal challenges. I support you in finding the Truth that provides peace and life-fulfillment.

I came to New Vision seeking a better life experience for myself. I wanted to live better, BE better and continue on the road to self- realization. I found here at NVC a home, a teaching, a community that gave me just what I needed , TOOLS! Tools to navigate through life and the tools needed to make changes in my life. Through Spiritual Practice and many classes I have been able to embrace the love and light of the Divine in my life. As a Practitioner I want to share with others the gifts that have been given to me by this community and teaching. The road is long and never ending and everyday I get to practice the joy of living better, being better and awakening to the love of Spirit within.

I was introduced to Religious Science in 2001 and found a spiritual teaching that resonated with my inner knowing of Unity. “All emerge from that One Whose Being is ever present and Whose Life, robed in numberless forms, is manifest throughout all Creation.” I felt I was home. Since getting my License in 2005, Home is what I share as a Practitioner.

My background has always been in music. It was my spiritual expression and my ministry. As a young child I sang all the time and as I grew up I studied music in college and went on to a short career as an opera singer in an Opera house in Germany. I then sang professionally and taught voice at the Oberlin Conservatory and for 30 years at Arizona State. As a voice teacher it was always my goal to help others discover who they really are and express themselves though their music. When I retired in 2004 I became a Practitioner and it is still my goal to help others see themselves as spiritual beings.

I came to NVC in 1992 after realizing that my life needed to shift. SOM principles provided the catalyst for my healing and a deeper connection and purpose. I was a youth teacher for six years, took many classes, and am currently serving for the third time on Leadership Council. As a direct result of the first year of Practitioner training, I made major life changes, landing me in Australia with the unique opportunity to take these principles out for a spin to see what they can do! While in Sydney, I helped start the Positive Living Center of Religious Science. I returned to Phoenix and reconnected with NVC, completing Practitioner training in 2009. Through all of the years, I have been proud to call NVC home and my cherished family. You can find me and my hubby Rick most Sundays in the front row, singing our hearts out!

As I entered the Sanctuary of NVC on Mother’s Day 2013, there was this nudge guiding me to the pathway of Truth! I knew there was SO much more than just a 12-Step Program to keep me on a pathway of living passionately. Spirit knew I needed more and It always presented more to me. As I learned about this philosophy and the teachings of Ernest Holmes, my comfort level with SOM and the 12-Steps became my mental equivalent. I realized through Spirit I can live this thing called Life very passionately. As a Practitioner, I am here to help you see the Love and Truth of who you are, no matter where you are.

In 2013 I came to New Vision to see a movie about heart centered living. I came to the Sunday Service that week and I have been coming ever since. I was so grateful to find a spiritual home that uses Love as its Guiding Light. After going through my own healing journey with the support of Practitioners and this community, I chose to become a Practioner myself. As a Spiritual Companion, I now walk alongside others in creating a container of Love for healing and self-love to be revealed. We are all in this together, and I am so very grateful to know that.
