Using a breathing ball (Hoberman Ball – see image below), you can teach your children the practice of meditation using conscious breathing. Talk about the awareness of gratitude and the wonderful ways our mothers make our life better — and how meditation can help us remember our gratitude every day. Spend some time in conscious breathing meditation with the breathing ball. Breath in together as you expand the ball (or raise your hands) and out together as you contract the ball (or lower your hands). Aim for 5 minute meditations together. Once that’s easy, increase the sessions by 1 minute at a time.
