We Almost ran out of chairs!
WOW! What an amazing Sunday we had at NVC. The energy was palpable for the 152 souls in the sanctuary and the 19 who watched via stream plus 10 children who joined us at the end of service! It began with a phenomenal choral vibration delivered by Points of Light that punctuated the deepening of our souls through Rev. Lezli’s talk. This vibration carried us to the social hall for a beautiful feast followed by our quarterly Town Hall meeting.
We joyfully welcomed more than 100 attendees to the meeting. An invocation was delivered by one of our ministerial students, Beverly Strutt.
Rev. Lezli and Rev. Karin created a safe container in which we elaborated on the letter that was mailed to the congregation prior to the meeting. The buyers of the property decided not to move forward with the purchase. Rev. Karin invited questions, concerns, feelings, ideas and comments to be written on 3 x 5 cards to be reviewed, considered and prayed over by the Senior Ministers and shared with the appropriate Teams.
Our multi-talented Treasure, Mark Arnold reported that NVC got to keep $35,000 from the buyers which was a part of our contract. He explained that a portion of which was used to repair an existing A/C unit and purchase a new one and we enjoyed the cooler air even as he spoke. Mark expounded on the options now before us. These options include: relisting the property, securing a loan with a bank (at a much lower interest rate than we currently pay) or the possibility of an angel lender. Through an informative Power Point presentation, he showed us how we are in a much better position to secure a refinance loan than we were two years ago. Our attendance has increased, our membership has increased, and our income has increased and with the continuous focus on keeping expenses down, we now have money in the bank! All of which put us in a much more favorable position than two years ago when we originally listed the property for sale.
Members of the Finance Team offered options for participation in the prosperity of the community. Aaron Thomas gave a testimonial on the joys and benefits of auto-tithing and Jeff Miller described ways one can support the community through Legacy Giving.
Our amazing ministers cast forth their vision for the New Vision Center future through the rest of the year. They will continue to focus on Revealing the Power of Love through caring for Radical Inclusivity; which includes caring for Partners and Members by being available for prayer support, Spiritual counsel, increasing education by offering classes, outreach, and expanding the circles to name just a few areas of intention.
The meeting concluded with questions, answers and enthusiastic cheers for the bright future ahead!
