Being called to live in a pandemic is like the start of a collective hero’s journey. The world as we knew it is different. I find myself resisting or judging some of the changes—forced confinement at home and constantly monitoring people to see if they are following protocols. There are other changes that I am willing to embrace—no commute to work and using the extra time to be creative and follow my dream.
What comes up for me is uncertainty, and uncertainty brings up insecurity. A Course in Miracles says, “Love rests in certainty. Only uncertainty can be defensive. And all uncertainty is doubt about yourself.” (T-22.V.3.10-12) Do I doubt my ability to let go of the old and transition to what is next without knowing what that looks like?
I have walked this path previously and remember that it is not a new experience. The only way through it was to surrender to my Source. Once I admitted that I needed help to navigate the unknown, help showed up. The help was in the form of guidance that told me where to go or what to say. The guidance was usually a solution or idea that I had not thought about because my ideas were based on past experience.
We are departing on this adventure together. Being in a spiritual community means that I am not alone. We can connect and support each other. We can listen when someone wants to share their story. We can send love and blessings from our heart to anyone that comes to mind. Thank you for walking with me as our journey continues.
A Course in Miracles study group meets virtually on Monday night from 6:30-8:00 pm. Please respond to this post if you would like the link to the meeting. New and continuing students welcome.
