As your Interim Community Co-Directors, Karin and I are dedicated to supporting, uplifting and maintaining the consciousness and love that are so fully present here at NVC. While you can see that dedication at work in our talks, our work in the office and our support of the many projects and programs happening right now, you might be surprised to learn that there is a whole lot of invisible work going on every week as well. Today, I’d like to give you an insider’s peek into the process of “praying in” the Center on Sunday mornings.
Have you ever stepped onto the NVC campus and thought, “Oh! I can just feel the love here!” There’s a reason for that! Each Sunday, the Directory-On-Duty arrives at NVC long before anyone else. She then moves through the entire Center, praying in each room to establish the consciousness of the Divine. From Grace Chapel to the Sanctuary, the Youth Church to the Teen Room, the Bookstore to the Social Hall — she prays over every square inch and she prays for the beloveds who are coming to celebrate together. Each and every person in sacred service is raised and praised. The speaker of the day is held in the highest light and love. The featured musician is celebrated and uplifted for their gifts. When people begin to arrive, the Director-On-Duty then makes herself available for any needed conversations, clarifications and prayer requests. And this is all before Sunday Service even begins!
If this practice of praying in the day calls to you, and you’d like to join us, here are some ways you can help:
- Sunday mornings, right when you open your eyes, say a prayer for NVC. Recognize love, abundance and ease, as well as any other qualities you wish to call forth.
- Every day, read aloud our Vision for Our New Minister, adding your consciousness to the call.
- When beloved friends from NVC pop into your mind, consider that homework from your Higher Wisdom Self and say a quick prayer for that person. We can all use more prayer!
We are so thankful for the opportunity to serve our beloved NVC during this interim period while we call in our next Spiritual Director. This community is so important to each of us, and has changed our lives profoundly in more ways than we could say. We hope the same is happening for you. We love you. Welcome Home.
