Have you ever looked up at the folks leading our congregational songs and thought, “I’d love to do that!”? Well, you’re in luck! We are hosting auditions for new Congregational Song Leaders and you are invited! Here’s how it works: There is a Dropbox folder that contains recordings of all of our featured congregational songs (both with vocals and without) as well as the sheet music. All of the practice tracks are recorded in the key we use in services, so you can know exactly what it will be like to sing with the Divine Groove on a Sunday. Practice, practice, practice, and then select the one song you feel most comfortable with. On Sunday, October 14 after service, we’ll hold auditions in the Sanctuary. You will sing the song you have chosen for several members of our Music Ministry, standing on the stage and using the microphone. Within 14 days, the Music Director will let you know if you’ve been selected to join the Congregational Song Leading Team. You can sign up for Auditions and learn more at the Concierge Table on Sunday.
Congregational Song Leaders are expected to:
Lead the Congregational Songs (the chant, the featured song and the offering song) once every 4-8 weeks.
Learn the songs the lead by heart and sing them with feeling.
Participate in a special training weekend November 17 & 18 with Daniel Nahmod. (This training is free, and it is a 100% requirement.)
