Facilities Coordinator Position

Part-Time: Approximately 10 hours a week
Compensation: $15 – 17/hour

Purpose 

 The purpose of this role is to ensure that all aspects of the Tatum Campus are organized and well maintained.  This person is also responsible for creating and supervising teams of volunteers to accomplish many of the duties listed below, as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities 

General  

  1. Kitchen
    1. Ensure that all equipment and workspaces are clean and organized and in good working order. Put away clean dishes and wash/dry small items as needed. (weekly)
      1. Notify Rental Manager/NVC Office if large amounts of dirty dishes are left in sink.
    1. Inventory items in refrigerator and freezer; discard, consolidate and organize as needed/after large events (monthly).
    1. Ensure that towels and washcloths are laundered, folded, and put away (monthly).
    1. Ensure that pantry items are organized, and outdated supplies are discarded (quarterly).
    1. Communicate to NVC office when pantry supplies are running low for reordering, i.e. plates, bowls, plastic utensils, napkins, basic supplies (as needed/after large events).
  2. Social Hall
    1. Straighten and organize storage room for ease of access (as needed/after large events).
    1. Ensure that table linens are laundered, sorted, and stored by color and size (as needed/after large events).
    1. Ensure that special event décor is organized, labeled, and stored appropriately. Check with NVC office to determine if items need to be discarded.
    1. Communicate to NVC office when supplies are running low for reordering, i.e.: plastic table covers, votive candles/tea lights, etc. (as needed/after large events).
  3.  Sanctuary
    1. Lead annual project to clean up two large storage rooms at either side of the sanctuary, recruiting a team of people to assist as needed.  Work with NVC office to make decisions on what to keep, discard, donate or sell.
    1. Monitor area behind the stage to keep clear of misc. items.
    1. Ensure that all seatbacks are stocked (brochure, Manifested Prayer, Donation Envelope, Auto tithe card, pen) <two volunteers already in place>
  4.  Sanctuary Lobby
    1. Ensure that storage cabinets are organized and current. Discard any outdated materials and ensure that cabinet-top materials are well supplied.
    1. Monitor bulletin board for appropriate postings; discard any outdated flyers.
  5. Outdoors
    1. Walk campus to address areas needing attention, i.e. pick up small debris, small handyman tasks (light bulb replacement, etc.). Alert NVC office for any major repairs or landscaping needs (weekly).
  6.  Misc. Spaces
    1. Ensure that all classrooms have basic supplies in the “NVC Class Supplies” boxes.
    1. Ensure that there is a supply of envelopes for teachers to place class payments in the safety box located in the hallway of Education Bldg. and in Social Hall.
    1. Ensure that rooms are tidy and tables/chairs stored properly.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

  8. Ability to climb ladders and do medium lifting and carrying as required (lifting up to 50 pounds/carrying up to 25 pounds)

Education and Experience 

  1.  Prior experience taking care of a larger property is a plus.
  2. Prior experience leading work teams, especially volunteers is a plus.
