Only What He Created is Real

The world is unpredictable. A disease with no known cure is spreading across the globe. Markets are volatile. The 2020 election is uncertain. This capricious pattern is not new. Can you think of a time in history that was static?

If we know that change is part of the human experience, how can we navigate through uncertain times? One thing that helps me is to focus on what is real. Anything that is changeless or constant qualifies as being real. Think about the qualities of Spirit—love, joy, and peace—just to name a few.

The Preface explains, “This is how A Course in Miracles begins. It makes a fundamental distinction between the real and the unreal; between knowledge and perception. Knowledge is truth, under one law, the law of love or God. Truth is unalterable, eternal, and unambiguous. It can be unrecognized, but it cannot be changed. It applies to everything that God created, and only what He created is real. It is beyond learning because it is beyond time and process. It has no opposite; no beginning and no end. It merely is.”

We always have a choice where to place our attention. There are times when I have difficulty focusing on what is real. I get caught up in the consciousness of lack, whether it is medical supplies, disappearing investments, or items in the grocery store. It is then time to pray, meditate, and ask for help. My question to Spirit is usually, “How can I see this differently”? The still, small voice within me answers with a different interpretation. It is something that I had not considered, and it will make perfect sense. Once I have the right explanation, I am able to change my thinking. Don’t take my word for it. Try it this week.
