Owe No Man by Tina Vlassie

Own No Man ~ I heard these words a couple of years ago when I was sitting in a Leadership Council meeting. “Owe no man.” The words continued to roll around in my head, quite loudly.  It would be a phrase I would hear over and over at our meetings as Leadership would be tending to the finances around our beloved New Vision Center.  Little did I know that as we, Leadership, were setting our intentions by expanding our trust in the One Source for the healing of our community finances, I was setting the same intention for the healing of my own finances.  Credit card debt was a way of life for me until the staggering debt was costing so much in payments, that not only could I continue the false lifestyle I was leading, I couldn’t pay for it either.  I registered immediately for the Principles of Financial Freedom class with Rev. Penny where I heard, “debt is a belief in lack and limitation, debt is doubt, debt is doubt in God as the true source of everything.”  I got it! The feeling penetrated my whole being. You could have knocked me over with a feather.  My intention was set.  My prayer, every day, became God is all there is, my affirmation every day, God is my only source propelled my intention to become consumer debt free.  Some of you may recall when I briefly spoke on stage last October during Stewardship, my intention was that I would be out of consumer debt by April, 2018, and guess what ~ yup I am out of debt, out of doubt, no lack and limitation.  It appeared to be an insurmountable amount to be paid off by the end of April: not only did it get paid off; it was three weeks earlier than the date I had planned on!
