You may ask, “What is the Pastoral Care group?” The Pastoral Care Group at New Vision for Spiritual Living consists of congregants that provide short-term support during times of illness, loss, and/or transition. Our mission is “Love and Compassion through Spiritual Companionship, Affirming the Self-worth and Dignity of All.”
What We Do: We 1) listen, 2) pray and coordinate with practitioners in your behalf, 3) visit homes, hospitals, and nursing home, 4) give referrals when appropriate, 5) maintain telephone contact, 6) are a support in grief and loss, 7) and provide special services depending on the need. This sometimes has included food delivery, help to arriving family members, and contact with others at our Center that could assist.
You may ask “How do I contact Pastoral Care.” You can call the New Vision for Spiritual Living office at 602-787-8888 or fill out a Pastoral Care Request at the Practitioner table in the church lobby. Your preferred contact information is needed so a pastoral care representative can reach out to you – phone number, email address. If visits are desired, addresses and other details would be helpful.
If you are interested in being a pastoral care volunteer, the next meeting is being held on December 4th in the chapel. We are represented by community members, practitioners, and ministers who have a desire to help others. If helping is your passion, you are welcome to join us.
Love and Light,
