Voices for CASA Children

Our May/June service project focused on helping the children in the foster care system.  For July/August we will be partnering with VOICES FOR CASA CHILDREN (Arizona Chapter of National CASA Association).  This non-profit organization focuses on recruiting, educating and supporting the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers who work with and support children of all ages within the foster care system.  These volunteers have a significant and positive impact in each child’s life.

Currently there are over 11,000 foster children in Maricopa County alone.  Children with an advocate have access to a consistent positive adult presence.  Children provided with a caring and supportive advocate are more likely to find safe, permanent homes and are more likely to be adopted.  NVC’s very own Outreach Liaison Gina Zamora had the opportunity to work as an advocate.  She says “being a CASA volunteer is not for the faint of heart; the experience is eye and heart opening!”

A percentage of all tithe offerings and general donations to New Vision Center during July and August will provide financial support for this dynamic organization and will help assure the best possible outcomes for children under protective care.  To learn more about Voices of Casa Children, please check out their website:  www.voicesforcasachildren.org
