Help Support CSL Southeast Louisiana

Dear CSL Community –

Many of you have been asking and wondering how to lend support to the devastating floods in Baton Rouge, LA. Did you know that we have a local Center for Spiritual Living in Baton Rouge? The only CSL in the state of Louisiana, and they need our help. At least 12 families who attend the Center for Spiritual Living, Southeast Louisiana have lost their homes. Beyond the physical loss the flood waters have obviously disturbed all forms of routine and daily life. And while Rev. Larrye Marie-Heyl has not been able to hold regular services through this time, the work of her ministry has not slowed down. In fact, our Rev. Larrye has been not only attending to the conditions faced by her congregants, she has also made daily trips to the local emergency shelter to lend her ear and pastoral heart. Using her skills as both a trained CSL minister and grief counselor she has sat with families who have lost everything. I can not think of another person more qualified to be present and to represent all that we stand for than Rev. Larrye Marie-Heyl.

Years ago there was an effort to set up a CSL Disaster Relief fund. That effort did not fully materialize, nonetheless, the consciousness behind the idea has not gone away. Today with social media, and crowd funding technology we can create instant funds to support any cause.

Rev. Larrye has set up a Go Fund Me Account for the Center for Spiritual Living, Southeast Louisiana. This fund will help the center be a place of healing and restoration for its affected families and the greater community.

Perhaps you are like me and often wonder where and how your charitable dollars are spent by large agencies, if they get to where they are intended to go? This is our opportunity to directly impact the lives of those most affected by the floods and to help one of our centers be a beacon of hope, healing and restoration in their community.

I am asking your support on three levels;
1. Ministers, please consider having your center tithe to this fund.
2. Please make a personal contribution.
3. Please share on social media and invite others to do the same.

Let us come together at this time to help make the world a better place and make a visible demonstration of our collective spiritual magnificence.

Blessings,
Rev. David Alexander, D.D.
