Mission: Unity

Dear Beloveds,

We're heading into our fourth week of Stewardship month, following our theme, Mission Possible. It has been a really fun month, especially taking into account Rev. Jeff's amazing videos. As I talk with people in the community, I think that we are shaping up to be really good Agents in the fields of Abundance and Freedom. We've got two more weeks of training...ahem, I mean, Sunday Service. Just imagine how much goodness remains to be explored!

There is a fairly common criticism of Science of Mind, and New Thought in general, that has always ranckled me a bit. It's that we are selfish. I can see where that idea comes from. We talk a lot about the self: self-awareness, self-esteem, self-help, self-reflection. What I think those critics miss, though, is that we are often talking about the Self, the consciousness behind all life which is Divine. And when I say all life, I mean literally ALL of life. And because of this simple truth, those who practice the Science of Mind are called to recognize the inherent Unity of all Life.

And that's truly what this week is all about. When we have opened our awareness to our capacity to be a Vessel of the Divine, the co-creation really starts flowing. Our personal experience of life becomes easier and more graceful. Each of us comes to the same conclusion, "I am one in The One!" It's delightful! And then that still small voice starts nudging again, as we realize that the Truth is that we are ALL one in The One. Our individualizations of Spirit are, in Reality, part of the interconnectedness of all life. What we think, say and do impact others, both those we know intimately and people on the other side of the planet.

Agents: this week's mission, should you choose to accept it, is to open to the uniVersal state of awareness. What can we create together when we remember that we are Divinely called to care for one another? I hope you'll join us this Sunday as we take on Mission Unity.

Much love,

Rev. Lezli
