Dear Beloveds,
Love can be a confusing topic. We have so many definitions to contend with. Just today, I have said, "love you!" in at least a dozen texts to friends and family checking in. I love my kids, my husband, and my dog. I love the amazing people of NVC. I love sitting in the meditation garden in the coolness of the very early morning. I love the weird meme a good friend sent me. I love that Taylor Swift is releasing a new album. Surely these are not all the same thing. No...but also yes. (The Divine Paradox is at it again!) They're all grounded to some degree in open-heartedness, on the central Divine Love that is always in the center of our being.
See, here's how it seems to me. The deepest, truest love is gentle and quiet. It has outlasted the fireworks of new discovery and is now worn in and comfortable, like your softest cardigan. In it, you feel safe, seen and respected. You can be your full, true self, because you know it is already accepted. The thing is, we have to be willing to give this kind of love if we want to receive it, and that can be challenging at times. We have to bring our tender hearts to the table, to accept that which we do not understand, and to keep returning to that Divine Fountain to refill.
This Sunday, we're going to talk more about how to become more aligned with love. I hope you'll join us as we go "Soaring in Love."
Much love,
Rev. Lezli
