Dear Ones,
One of my most vivid memories as a child was practicing riding my brother’s bike. I hadn’t learned how to use the pedals, but I’d sit and run and then lift my feet and see how long I could stay balanced… which was probably around 10 feet or so. My father, who was always working on a project in the garage, started watching and decided to join me. He got behind me and said, ok Jeff, put your feet on the pedals and I will hold you up. As soon as I did that, without any warning, he took off running and pushing the bike at the same time. It scared the hell out of me! But before I could utter the word “stop”, I heard in the far distance, “PEDAL, Jeff… PEDAL!” He had already let go. When I realized what was happening, I quickly heeded his advice and frantically started pedaling. It was that very moment that terror turned into sheer joy. I was riding a bike!!!
I feel this way often when I encounter fear in my life. That moment when we let go of safety, or when some outside circumstance forces us to let go. However, what comes to mind more and more quickly is that I am absolutely safe, and guided, and guarded. In fact, when I lean into my faith, I can almost see God behind me… pushing me until the moment shifts into joy.
Join me this Father’s Day as we celebrate the Divine Masculine together. We’ll take a soulful look at what it means to be rooted in presence, guided by emotional wisdom, and awakened to the truth that we don’t have to become Divine—we already are. The journey isn’t about performing, it’s about presence.
In Love and Gratitude,
Rev. Jeff
