“Even after all this time,
the sun never says to the earth,
‘You owe me.’
Look what happens with a love like that—
it lights the whole sky.”
Beloved Community,
I have always loved this quote by Hafez. When I find myself in nature, or in a moment of connection, or in an experience filled with the sacredness of giving (the kind of giving he describes, relational rather than transactional) I am reminded of the eternal loving‑kindness of Life Itself. I am grateful to have discovered ways to cultivate such moments, even in the midst of challenge, turmoil, or unrest.
This reflection brought me to my guiding question for the week:
How can I create life‑affirming and transformative exchanges while living in a world so deeply oriented toward transactional exchange?
Join us this Sunday as we continue deepening into the wisdom of Braiding Sweetgrass and explore what it means to shine simply because shining is our nature. Together we’ll reflect on how unconditional giving—like sunlight, like sweetgrass, like Spirit—creates connection, healing, and abundance in ways that illuminate our entire community and ultimately the world.
I look forward to being with you.
