Dear Beloveds,

I will admit, I approached this week's topic with a bit of a conundrum, First, this Sunday is Mother's Day in the United States, and New Vision Center has traditionally honored mothering and the Divine Feminine in all of us on this special day. Second, our monthly theme is "Embracing the Edge of our New Becoming." When I think of mothering, nothing edgy comes to mind. I think of nurturing and sweetness, soft pink baby toesies and midnight conversations with heartbroken teenagers over tubs of ice cream. How could I bridge this gap between mothering and the Edge?

Oh, the message came swiftly and landed hard, with the blazing black eyes of Kali and the depth of Mary Magdalene. I had made the classic blunder, the one all women are warned about as we venture off into the world. I had forgotten who The Mother is. I had forgotten who I am. Yes, The Mother is the sweetness and the support, but She is also the Power and the Presence. She is feminine rage and profound wisdom and the capacity to hold it all at once. Whether we are mothering a child, a dream or a community, the Divine Feminine within us already has whatever is needed to support us. I hope you will join us as we explore "The Edge of the Divine Feminine."

Much love,
Rev. Lezli

Questions for contemplation:

  1. What are you currently mothering into being? How does that feel?
  2. What is your edge when exploring the Divine Feminine? Are you open to exploring it?
  3. Where in your life are you holding two truths that feel opposite? How do you make space for both?
