Dear Beloveds,
What a joy to be the speaker that concludes this juicy month of exploring edges! Throughout May we have looked at the edge of the Divine feminine within each of us, our inner contemplative edges, and the edge of what we currently know. Now, this Sunday, we get to expand "The Edge of the Possible." And it's important that we look at this edge. We often quote Ernest Holmes saying, "There is a Power greater than we are, and we can use it." I would say Ernest actually under-spoke. It's not that we can use it, but that we MUST use it. We're using it whether we're aware of it or not. If we want our lives and our world to change, this Power is the path to new possibilities.
I'm the first one to admit that I can fall short in this area. I have a tendency to call on the Power of Infinite Good, but then limit what I claim to the narrow swath of potentials that I can currently see. That's not the way to grow! We can't manifest more than we can imagine while held trapped by earthly evidence. Growth requires us to look beyond what is, and to gaze steadily toward what could be. Before we had airplanes, most people thought manned flight was a crazy pipedream. Before sci-fi became a trend in the 20th century, handheld computers sounded bizarre. I mean, before the pandemic forced us all to become online experts, most people thought connected online spiritual communities was an impossibility. Try saying that to our NVC Online Campus, 52% of our Sunday Service attendance!
And so, friends, this is the question before us as we approach Sunday's message: What would be possible if I really believed anything is possible? Together, we'll play with that question as individuals and as a community. I hope you'll join us as we dig into, "The Edge of the Possible."
Much Love,
Rev. Lezli
Questions for contemplation:
1. What would be possible if I really believed anything is possible?
2. What old story or idea am I ready to let go of in order to see the bigger possibility?
3. Am I ready to be stretched? What does this idea bring up for me?
