The Joy of Divine Identity

Dear Beloveds,

Deepening into this month of Boundless Joy has been working on me! As is often the case when preparing talks for Sunday, I've been revisiting favorite books and media on the topic of Divine Joy and living a more joyful life. That weekly mini-research project nearly always has the added benefit of calling me to a more complete understanding of who I am. Spiritual Principle tells me that I am (and you are) an expression of the Divine, inherently containing every spiritual quality. Or, as Ernest Holmes wrote, " Back of all creativity is the pressure of our own Divinity to come forth into the humanity that It has created in order to enjoy the fullness of Its own expression." And so, each time I seek a fuller relationship with a Divine quality, I find myself back at that meeting place of the Divine in, through and as me.

I've been asking myself questions. Who is this God-As-Joy that I have been seeking? What choices, language and practices help me access the God-As-Me-As-Joy that is already present? Who am I to claim all of this outrageous, opulent joy? (A joy-filled, delightful expression of the One Truth, that's who!) The ancient Greeks invited us to "Know Thyself," which is a beautiful place to start the excavation. I hope you'll come play with us on Sunday as we explore "The Joy of Divine Identity."

Much love,

Rev. Lezli

Question for Contemplation:

How does Joy help me remember who I really am?
